About KOZENJI
Kōzenji is a Shingon Buddhist temple founded in Adachi, Tokyo.
Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism, taught that "life is suffering, suffering has a cause, and if you know that cause, you can extinguish suffering."
We face many worries in our daily lives.
You may experience hardship or hit a wall.
Buddhism aims to resolve such "worries" and "suffering," and to help each person "while they are still alive" in their life.
This book explains how to become happy.
Kobo Daishi (Kukai), who introduced Shingon Esoteric Buddhism to Japan, taught a method called "sokushin jōbutsu" (achieving Buddhahood in this very body), which is the realization of the Buddha-nature (Buddha-mind) inherent in oneself. Wishing for happiness for every person in the world, he continues to practice meditation at Okunoin on Mount Koya.
Established to practice the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and the faith in Kobo Daishi, and to provide opportunities to connect with the doctrines of Buddhism and Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, our temple aims to be a place of spiritual and physical solace for all people, regardless of their religious affiliation.

"Saido" - Counseling for the heart and life
Are you struggling with anxieties and difficulties in your daily life, unable to talk to anyone about them, and bearing them alone?
In times like these, please come and talk to us about your emotional problems.
No matter how small the problem may seem, there is a level of difficulty that only those directly involved can truly understand.
During such difficult and painful times, I offer quiet listening, support, and encouragement to help them feel at ease.
The Priest take their time to listen to the Buddha's teachings.
Please make use of "Saido".
Buddhist service and consultation
We accept requests for various Buddhist services, including a child's first temple visit, Shichi-Go-San (a traditional Japanese rite of passage for children), individual prayers and blessings using the Daihannya Sutra, and memorial services and funerals for the deceased.
"I want to build connections with people," "I want to seek help."
Temples are a spiritual haven that offers comfort to all people.
Kozenji values "connecting people," "supporting one another," and "mutual assistance," and is open to everyone at any time.
Please contact us anytime even for minor matters.
